What is Augmentt Managed? 

Augmentt Managed is a fully managed service that secures and reports on M365.  Microsoft laid out 5 best practices that can prevent over 99% of attacks in their 2023 Digital Defense Report. The goal of our service is to make sure tenants are as breach proof as possible. For the tenants you choose to deploy Augmentt’s managed service on, we will audit your tenants, identify security gaps and configure a best-in-class security posture. Following setup, Augmentt Managed will monitor for drift from the established posture and reinforce security policies as necessary. You will also receive monthly reports highlighting drift, reinforcement and configuration repairs. You can choose to deploy to all or some of your Microsoft 365 tenants.  

How it works 

Initial Hardening 

• Augmentt meets with the MSP to define requirements, such as, how many tenants, and what standards to meet (Microsoft Secure Scores, NIST, etc.) 

• Then we take a snapshot of the current client configuration for a ‘before’ photo 

• Next, we’ll actually do the work of increasing security by configuring conditional access policies and deploying best practices. 

• Following the setup, we’ll notify the MSP with another report, arming our partner with a before and after report that shows the completion of hardening their M365 environment.  

Drift Monitoring 

• Once we’ve hardened the tenants’ security, we’ll monitor the environment for drift from our initial setup. 

• If we detect changes in your client’s security settings, we’ll notify you to check if there is a business reason for the changes. If not, we’ll fix it by re-applying baselines, policies etc and sending an updated report. For desired drift, Augmentt will document it as the new baseline for that tenant.

How to land a new customer onto this service? 

Winning new business is always a priority of any MSP, as such we’re here to help you go to market with our new managed M365 security service. MSPs have found that there is a big difference between selling their own services and reselling a 3rd party service. Clients complain and try to squeeze margins when it’s an MSP but when it comes to a 3rd party vendor there’s almost always less haggling. 

To start the sales process with a new prospect, Augmentt will provide an integration link. The MSP then sends the link to the client for them to approve. Once integrated, Augmentt will provide a security report highlighting the vulnerabilities in their environment and equip the salesperson with talking points. As sales reviews the report with the prospect, we expect some questions to come up and we’ll provide answers and guidance to the MSP’s salesperson.
